Two Mules Honored by Centennial Conference

Two Muhlenberg football players earned weekly honors from the Centennial Conference after a 31-28 win against defending CC champion Franklin & Marshall.

Senior Amari Dunn was named offensive player of the week, while freshman Jahmir Brown was recognized as special teams player of the week.

Dunn rushed for a career-high 157 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries. His 7-yard touchdown run, and ensuing two-point conversion, tied the game at 28-all with 7:21 remaining, and he rushed for the final 11 yards on Muhlenberg's game-winning field goal drive. The 157 yards were the most by a Mule runner since 2018 and came against an F&M defense that entered the game 11th in Division III against the run.

Dunn is second in the CC in rushing, averaging 111.6 yards per game, and ranked eighth in program history with 1,841 career yards.

Brown returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown to answer Franklin & Marshall's first touchdown midway through the first quarter. He is the second different Muhlenberg player to return a kickoff for a TD this season and the first Mule freshman to do so since 1977. Brown also is the fifth Mule to bring back a kickoff 100 yards and leads the CC with his average of 29.1 yards per kickoff return.

The last time Muhlenberg won two of the three weekly CC awards was last season, also after defeating a nationally ranked opponent (Carnegie Mellon) in a game that came down to the final play.

To beat the Diplomats, who had their CC winning streak snapped at nine, the Mules overcame a 14-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter. It was the third time in the last two seasons that they came back from down two touchdowns or more to win. Prior to last year, when the Mules rallied to beat Carnegie Mellon and Ursinus, they had won after trailing by 14 points or more only once in the previous 12 seasons.
