Tough Home Opener for Football

The Muhlenberg football team fell in an early 20-0 hole and dropped its 2026 home opener, 49-21 to 25th-ranked Endicott.

The Gulls drove for a touchdown on the opening possession of the game, used a long punt return to set up a short field for their second TD, and brought back an interception for a touchdown midway through the first quarter.

Muhlenberg responded with a solid drive, getting on the board on a 3-yard run by junior Luke Spang, but Endicott scored the next 16 points to take a commanding 36-7 lead into halftime.

After rushing for 100 yards in the season-opening win at Moravian in his first game back from injury, senior Amari Dunn had another strong game, rushing for 89 yards on 19 carries. He carried in from 5 yards (pictured above) for the final points of the game and also caught a pair of passes for 23 yards.

Spang passed for 164 yards, including a 24-yard scoring strike to sophomore Caleb Pasols in the third quarter.

Junior Chris Holland blocked a kick for the second straight week, swatting away one of the Gulls' PATs.

Senior Nicholas D'Amico was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points and recorded touchbacks on all four of his kickoffs.
