Muhlenberg athletes are spending the summer of 2025 enjoying fantastic experiences on campus, in their hometowns, and across the country.

Rising senior cross country/track and field runner Julia Tassone combined her public health major and business administration minor in an internship at a healthcare marketing platform.

This summer, I've been interning at Health Monitor Network, a targeted healthcare marketing platform that helps build brand impact by empowering patients and healthcare professionals with trusted, actionable information. I'm part of the editorial team, our in-house group that produces content for a wide range of materials — like condition-specific patient guides, clinician updates, and more.

As a public health major with a business administration minor, this internship has been the perfect way to combine both of my interests through the lens of healthcare communication. What I've enjoyed most is the chance to make a real impact through writing — translating important health information into content that's clear, accessible, and genuinely useful.

My experience as a writing tutor at Muhlenberg really helped prepare me for this role — not just in terms of writing, but also learning how to collaborate and communicate ideas effectively.

One of the biggest surprises has been how creative the process actually is. We're always thinking about how to frame complex medical topics in a way that feels approachable — using metaphors, visuals, and storytelling techniques. It's a mix of writing, translating, and advocating, all at once.

Another unexpected (and awesome) moment was meeting Gwen Park '05 (formerly Gwen Doyle), a Muhlenberg alum and former women's basketball record-holder who now serves as senior VP of pharmaceutical sales at Health Monitor. It's been so cool to see a Muhlenberg connection in this space — and a great reminder of how far a small, close-knit community can reach.
