For the second straight season, four Muhlenberg players were selected to the
All-Centennial Conference softball team.
Senior
Kaya Mahy picked up one of the league's major honors; she was named Gold Glove of the Year as the top defensive player. Sophomore
Skyla Campisi earned first-team honors as a utility player, Mahy and junior
Scooter Hulsen landed on the second team, and graduate student
Gillian Zack received honorable mention.
Mahy is the Mules' third Gold Glove winner in the last six seasons. She played all over the infield during the season, routinely switching positions in the middle of games, and did not commit an error in 44 chances in CC contests. For the season, she made only five errors in 146 chances while contributing to four double plays. At the plate, Mahy hit .296 with a team-leading six home runs, 27 runs scored, and .556 slugging percentage. She also tied for the team lead with 11 stolen bases.
Campisi split her time between catcher and first base and hit .321 with a home run and 18 RBI. In CC games, she was even more potent, batting .333 and tying for ninth in the league with 13 RBI in 14 league contests. Campisi also belted six of her nine doubles in CC regular-season games and added one in the CC playoffs.
Hulsen, who moved up to the second team after earning honorable mention as a sophomore, was Muhlenberg's leading hitter in CC action, batting .418 and tying for the lead with seven doubles in CC games. Overall, she hit a team-best .402 and led the Mules in hits (45) and doubles (12) while tying for the lead in stolen bases (11) and sacrifices (7) and finishing second in runs scored (23) and RBI (22).
Zack bookended her career with a pair of honorable mention nods. She hit .328 with one home run and 21 RBI this spring, finishing second on the team with 11 doubles and tying the school record of 38 career doubles.
The Mules finished the season with a 22-21 record, earning a CC playoff berth for the third time in the last four seasons and reaching the 20-win mark for the 14th time in program history.
