Despite strong performances by junior
Jenny Ryan and senior
Christina Marcin, the Muhlenberg volleyball team fell in four sets at Ursinus.
The Mules (10-17, 2-7) came back to win the second set, 25-16, after dropping the first. The last two sets were close, but the Bears (8-15, 2-7) pulled away late to win both.
Ryan flirted with a triple-double, recording a career-high 8 kills in only 12 attempts, tying a career high with 17 digs, and dishing out 32 assists. Ryan
(pictured above) topped her previous career best of 6 kills in a bid to become the first Muhlenberg volleyball player with a triple-double in 25 years. The 32 assists moved her to within 11 of 1500 for her career.
Marcin, the reigning
Centennial Conference player of the week, knocked down a match-high 18 kills, her second-highest total of the season. She added 14 digs and a pair of aces. With one match left in her career, Marcin ranks 10th in program history in career kills (947). Her 289 kills this season are the most by a Mule since 2018.
After missing three matches with injury, sophomore
Abigail Oswari returned to post her sixth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs. Freshman
Andrea Romero-Agosto added 9 kills, while senior
Camila Leyes pulled up 13 digs.
