The Muhlenberg men's team moved back into the top 20 in the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll.
The Mules (6-2) are ranked 18th, matching the highest ranking in program history. They were ranked 18th in back-to-back weeks earlier this season, then fell back into "also receiving votes" for three weeks before re-entering the top 20 this week.
While it was a loss - in triple-overtime to two-time defending national champion RIT - that put the Mules in the top 20 for the first time, it was a win that got them back in. Muhlenberg opened Centennial Conference play on Saturday with an 11-10 win against defending Centennial Conference champion Dickinson, then ranked 10th and now ranked 14th. Dickinson was coming off a one-goal loss to Christopher Newport, the top-ranked team in the poll.
Muhlenberg is one of four CC teams in the top 20. In addition to Dickinson, Gettysburg is ranked fifth and Ursinus is 19th.
The Mules continue their CC schedule this week with games against Swarthmore (away on Wednesday) and Washington College (home on Saturday), two teams that have comined for a 13-3 record this season.
