The Muhlenberg women's soccer team lost to Ursinus, 2-1, in its next-to-last game of the season.
For the first time this season at home, the Mules (3-12-1, 1-8) took a 1-0 lead in the first half. In the 11th minute, sophomore
Kate Johnson took a shot that the Ursinus goalie saved but could not control. Junior
Noemi Di Cori shot in the rebound off the underside of the crossbar and in for her sixth goal of the season.
Muhlenberg nearly made it 2-0 less than two minutes later off a corner kick, when Di Cori's header hit the crossbar and was cleared away.
The Bears (3-10-2, 1-8) put in a direct kick to tie the score midway through the half and scored what would prove to be the winning goal with 2:42 left in the half.
Despite a 6-3 advantage in shots in the second half, the Mules could not find the equalizer.
