Six Muhlenberg wrestlers advanced to the second day at the NCAA Mideast Regional at Ithaca.

Three Mules - seniors Dylan Schwartz (165) and Jimmy Fratantoni (184) and sophomore Luca Colestock (197) - won both of their bouts to reach the championship semifinals. Seniors Austin Sherman (149), Brian Jamison (174) and Scott Schaeffer (HWT) were alive in the consolation semifinals.

Schwartz, seeded second, improved to 27-2 on the season with a 26-12 major decision in his first bout and a win by injury default in his second. With his first win, he tied the school record of nine major decisions in a season.

Fratantoni (pictured above) had an impressive two bouts, winning on a technical fall and a first-period pin. The tech was his seventh of the season, tying the school record he set last year, and extended his career record total to 22.

The top seed at 197, Colestock won by 9-1 major decision, then needed only 61 seconds to pin his quarterfinal opponent and improve to 32-1 on the season. 

Sherman had a busy day, going 4-1 with a technical fall and two major decisions. His only loss came in overtime. The two major decisions gave Sherman 20 for his career, breaking the previous school record of 19 that had stood since 1990.

Jamison and Schaeffer each went 2-1, notching a major decision apiece.
