Muhlenberg junior
CJ Horvath has been Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's wrestling.
Scholar-Athletes of the Year are presented to a member of the junior or senior class with the highest cumulative GPA on the All-Centennial team.
A psychology major, Horvath had a phenomenal season on the mat, winning the CC title at 125 pounds. He finished with a record of 25-4, setting school records for technical falls in a season (12) and career (23). He won the 125-pound bracket at the Scotty Wood Invitational, placed second at Alvernia and Messiah, and came within one win of qualifying for the NCAA Championships, finishing four at regionals.
Horvath is the second consecutive Mule to earn Scholar-Athlete of the Year in wrestling;
Andrew Franklin took the honor last year. He also is the third Muhlenberg athlete to receive the award this academic year, joining Erin DiSandro (field hockey) and Sam Roberts (men's soccer).
