For the second time this season, Muhlenberg sophomore
Matthew D'Ambrosia was named Centennial Conference pitcher of the week.
D'Ambrosia pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out 15 batters in the Mules' 1-0 shutout of Dickinson. He allowed only five runners to reach base, with just one of them advancing past first base.
The 15 whiffs were the most by a Muhlenberg hurler in 31 years.
For the season, D'Ambrosia is 3-1 with a CC-leading 1.21 ERA. He also leads the CC in strikeouts per nine innings with 40 in just 29 2/3 innings. In addition to his three wins, D'Ambrosia has recorded a pair of saves and is holding opponents to a .147 batting average.
Earlier this year,
D'Ambrosia was honored after tossing eight shutout innings against Southern Vermont in his first start.
