Postcards from Abroad: Morgan Weiss

After seeing the popularity in our Postcards from Abroad series last semester, we decided to bring it back and check on our athletes currently studying abroad. We are first traveling not too far from here, to Washington, D.C., to catch up with Morgan Weiss of the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team. She is a double major in political science and psychology, and here she shares her experiences.

What classes are you taking?  What class is your favorite?
I am taking Global Agenda and American Diversity. I am very interested in both but I would have to say that I like my Global Agenda class a little more because we talk about all of the current foreign affairs that are happening.

Morgan WeissWhat internship are you doing? What are you getting out of it?
I am interning with the Normandy Group, which is a lobbying firm in D.C. I have made great connections and I'm getting firsthand experience with policy advocating and implementation.

What made you want to stay in the country but still have the 'abroad' experience?
I have always had a passion to be in D.C. and work with our government for my future, and I thought this program would be a great stepping-stone to starting my career and getting an inside look at what I could potentially pursue.

Do you like being in the U.S. but still being away from school?
Yes, I love it. I am still able to go home or back to school and see my friends on the weekends while still feeling far enough away.

What are you doing to train and prepare for lacrosse while being away?
I got a membership to Orange Theory Fitness which includes floor circuits and running circuits, so it really hits everything.

Any words to your team back home?
Miss you all and hope you guys are putting in the work now so that we are ready for the spring season!!
