Four members of the Muhlenberg softball team earned
All-Centennial Conference honors.
Senior
Taylor Trifiolis was named to the first team at second base, sophomore outfielder
Hanna Caiola earned second-team recognition, and sophomores
Karissa Astrella (utility) and
Amelia Shelley (catcher) received honorable mention.
Trifiolis
(pictured above left) made the All-CC team for the second time in her career after earning honorable mention as a freshman. She led the Mules and ranks fourth in the CC with an even .400 batting average. Trifiolis hit four home runs and drove in a team-leading 21 runs. Her slugging percentage of .609 is third in the CC.
Trifiolis finished her career in the top 10 on Muhlenberg's all-time lists in hits (seventh with 143), doubles (fifth with 31), home runs (third with 7), extra-base hits (sixth with 40), total bases (sixth with 197) and RBI (fourth with 89).
Caiola
(pictured above center) enjoyed a breakout sophomore season after playing minimally as a rookie. She hit .327 with a team-leading 12 doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI. Caiola led the CC with eight two-baggers in league games and compiled a .509 on-base percentage against CC opponents.
Astrella
(pictured above right, top) also showed great improvement from her freshman season, raising her average more than 100 points to .310. She hit one home run, drove in 19 runs and batted .360 in CC games.Â
Shelley
(pictured above right, bottom) hit safely in eight of her final 10 CC games to land on the All-CC team for the second straight year. Seven of her nine RBI came in CC games, and she threw out three runners attempting to steal.
