The Scranton Royals scored two goals courtesy of a header en route to defeating the host Muhlenberg Mules by a score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
The scoring started early for the visitors, who nabbed a 1-0 lead about four minutes into the game on an impressive toss on a throw-in. The Royal on the receiving end deftly headed the ball past the goalkeeper. Muhlenberg fell victim to Scranton's pressure early, but managed to make some headway in that department as the first half wore on.
Just 10 minutes into the second half, however, the Royals turned a free kick into a goal when one player headed the 30-yard kick to a teammate in the box, who then scored. Another tally as the game was winding down put the contest out of reach.
After the first 45 minutes, the contest was much more even than the score would indicate; the Mules outshot the Royals 5-4 in the second half.
