The Muhlenberg men's soccer team fell at Moravian, 2-0, in its first game of the 2026 season and the opening contest of the Crosstown Clash.
The Lehigh Valley rivalry continues for the fall with contests in cross country (Friday at Lehigh), football (Saturday at Moravian), field hockey (Saturday at Muhlenberg), volleyball (Tuesday at Muhlenberg), and women's soccer (Wednesday at Moravian).
Moravian scored both of its goals off of set pieces, one in each half, en route to snapping the Mules' 21-game unbeaten streak in the series.Â
Muhlenberg had advantages of 14-9 in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks but could not find the back of the net.Â
The closest the Mules came to scoring was in the 85th minute, when junior
Thomas Shreiber (pictured above) drew a foul just outside the box. Junior
Mack Metcalf took the free kick and ripped a shot that forced the Greyhound goalie to leap and parry the ball over the crossbar at the last second.
