Mule Athletes Honored at Academic Ceremony

Members of the field hockey, men's golf, men's soccer, women's track and field, softball, and men's wrestling teams were recognized for their academic and extracurricular work at Muhlenberg's 2026 Honors Convocation ceremony.

The Mule athletes were honored in fields that included biology, business, education, student leadership, theology, and writing.

Honorees were as follows (pictured above):

Collin Boldt (men's wrestling)
The Harry and Mary Trexler Trust Pretheological Prize
Awarded to a senior pretheological student selected as having demonstrated outstanding academic ability, character, and fitness for the ministry to aid and encourage in the continuation of studies. 

The Reverend Dr. H. H. Bruning Gift Fund Prize
Awarded to a senior whom the faculty deem most worthy.
Erin DiSandro (field hockey)
The Student Leader of the Year Award
Awarded to a senior for outstanding commitment to leadership service at Muhlenberg College.  

The Senior Female Scholar Athlete of the Year
Awarded to an outstanding senior female athlete who has achieved high athletic as well as academic standards.

The Dr. John V. Shankweiler Prize
Awarded to an outstanding student in biology. 
Hailey Godin (softball)
The Espi Guinto Young Writer's Award
Awarded to student who shows superior writing potential in his/her scholastic field of endeavor.
CJ Horvath (men's wrestling)
The William M. French Award in Education
Awarded to the rising senior who has the highest grade point average in the Department of Education.
Ben Mulford (men's soccer)
The Senior Male Scholar Athlete of the Year
Awarded to an outstanding senior male athlete who has achieved high athletic as well as academic standards.
Maya Richwine (women's track and field)
The Carol Emhardt Kuntzleman Memorial Award 
Awarded to a sophomore or junior young woman who exhibits zeal for excellence and a high level of participation that characterized the academic work and extracurricular activities of Carol Emhardt Kuntzleman.
Sam Roberts (men's soccer)
The Todd L. Romig Memorial Prize 
Awarded to a junior who most exemplifies the true characteristics of the scholar athlete.

The Paul M. White '27 Business Award
Awarded to rising juniors or rising seniors who specialize in the broad retail field.
Maddy Svenningsen (softball)
The Ann E. Wonsiewicz Scholars in Education Award
Awarded to a graduating senior earning a certification in primary or secondary education on the basis of their academic achievement and potential for teaching excellence.
Ryan Tasetano (men's golf)
The Paul M. White '27 Business Award
Awarded to rising juniors or rising seniors who specialize in the broad retail field.
