The Muhlenberg baseball team jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but could not hold it and fell to Eastern, 10-5, in its final non-conference game of the season. 

The Mules (10-23) took advantage of an error, a walk, and a hit batter to plate three runs in the first, a rally that also included a single by sophomore Sean Lynch and an RBI single by senior JJ Foti.

Muhlenberg was kept off the scoreboard in the next four innings, however, and the Eagles (24-13) came back to open up a 6-3 lead.

The Mules closed to within a run on a run-scoring wild pitch in the sixth and a long double by senior Shreyas Sekhar (pictured above) in the seventh. Eastern put the game out of reach with four in the top of the ninth.

Lynch, senior Mason Mehling, and freshman Joey Georgiou all started and had two hits. Junior Justin Hilal came off the bench to reach base in all three of his plate appearances, with two singles and a walk.

Junior Owen Ondrejca and freshman Zack Silberstein each tossed a perfect inning in relief, and senior Joseph Stern allowed just one run in his three-inning relief stint.
