The Muhlenberg Mules secured their first two conference wins on the strength of a seven-run inning in game one and a
Lillie Teague (

With two outs in the bottom of the eighth and a raucous home crowd behind her, Teague stepped to the plate looking to bring home the decisive run. Earlier in the inning,
Sofia Gallahue moved over the 'zombie runner' from second to third with one out. An untimely batter's interference call accounted for the second out and set the stage for the junior left fielder. Teague delivered, smacking a 2-2 fastball past the outstretched arm of the Dickinson second baseman and into right field for the game-winning RBI.
That hit was the culmination of a four-inning comeback effort on the part of the Mules. In the fifth, the Red Devils worked a pair of bases-loaded walks to take their largest lead of the afternoon at 5-1. To that point, the hosts had recorded five hits, including two for extra bases, but unproductive outs with runners on base had left them with just the lone tally.
In the bottom of the fifth,
Scooter Hulsen injected some life into Muhlenberg with an RBI double to left center after a lengthy battle at the dish to cut the deficit to three. Gallahue added one more on a ringing triple over the head of the center fielder in the sixth.
Meanwhile,
Abigail Kim was keeping the visitors in check. The sophomore hurler came in with one out and the bases loaded in the fifth, but managed to limit the damage with a pair of strikeouts. A 1-2-3 sixth featuring a diving catch in left-center by Teague was followed by another scoreless frame in the seventh. It would not have been scoreless without another diving catch, this time by
Peri Kahn at first base, who leapt forward to catch a bunt in the air and keep the runners on second and third.
Teague led off the seventh with a single, but a walk sandwiched between two popouts put two on with two out. Kahn walked, loading the bases for pinch-hitter
Morgan Bobrowski. Bobrowski was one of the stars of the show in game one for Muhlenberg, reaching base safely in all three trips to the plate and tallying two of her team's 16 hits. That's not to mention the complete game victory she authored in the circle, giving up two runs over five innings of work.
With the game on her shoulders, Bobrowski came through, working the count full before lacing a two-RBI single through the hole that knotted the score at 5. Kim worked around the extra-innings runner and a hit batter in the eighth, striking out Dickinson's number three hitter with two on and one out and getting a foul out to keep the game tied for the offense.
Game one was a much less stressful affair. The Mules scored seven runs in the third inning and ran away with the win in five innings. All nine batters in the lineup had at least one hit, and seven of those recorded an RBI.
With the pair of wins, the Mules get back to .500 in Centennial Conference action and make it six straight wins over the Red Devils. They're now 53-29 against Dickinson all-time.
