For the second straight week, a pair of Mules took home Centennial Conference player of the week honors, as sophomore hurler
Morgan Bobrowski was named pitcher of the week in softball while freshman midfielder
Jane Sorger was named offensive player of the week in women's lacrosse.
Bobrowski earns her second straight pitcher of the week nod after continuing her dominance into the softball team's spring trip, going 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA in three appearances, including two starts, at the Triangle Collegiate Classic. In her two starts, the sophomore pitched nine scoreless innings, striking out seven, allowing only four hits, and holding opponents to a .129 batting average. She tossed the first five innings of a shutout win vs. Eastern Mennonite and the first four of a 3-1 defeat of Greensboro. Bobrowski has not allowed a run over 14 innings in her three starts this season. The only runs she's allowed this season came in a relief appearance against No. 2 Virginia Wesleyan.
After totaling eight points in the first three games of her career, Sorger erupted for nine points on four goals and five assists in a 20-9 win against Stockton. The nine points matched the school record for a first-year player, achieved previously in 2003. The midfielder connected on all four of her shot attempts, including three on free positions. She was involved in half of her team's goals in the first quarter alone, scoring two and assisting on three others, as the Mules scored 10 goals in a quarter for only the sixth time in program history. Sorger also picked up four ground balls in the win.
This is the first time that a Mule has won a weekly conference honor in back-to-back weeks since Joe Repetti did so in 2022.
