Jack Bill Receives Weikert Award

Muhlenberg men's lacrosse player Jack Bill was presented with the Sidney G. Weikert Sophomore Athlete of the Year Award at halftime of the recent men's basketball game vs. Franklin & Marahall.

The annual award recognizes athletic achievement with accompanying campus contribution and strong academic record. It was established in 1973 by the Muhlenberg College Alumni Association in memory of the late Sidney G. Weikert, a loyal alumnus and former associate director of admissions at Muhlenberg.

The award is typically given at halftime of the Alumni Weekend football game, but the formal presentation of the 2024-25 award was deferred to the spring because Bill was studying abroad in Italy in the fall.

Pictured above is Bill receiving the award with members of his family, Kathleen Harring, Muhlenberg's president, and Jake Plunket, head men's lacrosse coach.

A two-time All-American, Bill led Muhlenberg with 37 goals in 2025, becoming the first player in program history named to the All-Centennial Conference first team as a freshman and sophomore. Bill, who also was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll last spring, holds the school record for most total goals as a freshman and sophomore (77) and ended his first two seasons tied for seventh on the program's all-time list in career goals.

Bill, the first member of the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse program ever to win the Weikert Award, opened his junior campaign with a pair of goals at nationally ranked Stevenson, moving into a tie for sixth place. He is eight points away from 100 for his career and could reach the milestone this week when the Mules travel to Scranton on Wednesday and face Eastern in their home opener on Saturday.
