The Muhlenberg field hockey team broke a 1-1 tie with two fourth-quarter goals and went on to its second straight Centennial Conference road win, 3-1 at McDaniel.
The game was even with less than 10 minutes to play when junior
Haley Foster was tripped in the circle on the way to the goal, earning a penalty stroke. Junior
Danielle Kapsak converted to put the Mules (6-10, 3-5) ahead for good.
Kapsak
(pictured above) also netted the first goal of the game, scoring off a penalty corner late in the first quarter to give Muhlenberg a 1-0 lead. It was the third multiple-goal game of her career.
The Mules tacked on an insurance goal less than two minutes later when Foster knocked in the rebound of a saved shot off the stick of junior
Jocelyn Morgan.
Sophomore
Brenna Fitzpatrick made 4 saves, stopping at least 80 percent of the shots sent at her for the seventh time in her last eight games.Â
