The Muhlenberg men won three bouts in a 35-15 loss at a strong Gettysburg team that features five regionally ranked wrestlers.
Junior
CJ Horvath opened the match with a technical fall, recording his sixth takedown 36 seconds into the third period to extend his lead to 19-3. It was his eighth tech of the season, tying the school record he set last year. Horvath is 7-0 in dual matches this season, with five of the wins coming by technical fall.
After the Bullets took the next six bouts, the Mules got back in the winning column at 184 when junior
Nick Stump won by 18-6 major decision. Stump led 11-6 in the second period after getting reversed, but reversed his opponent back and clinched the bout with a late takedown in the third period. Stump is 8-0 in duals, with all of his wins coming with bonus points.
Senior
Ryan Fairchild recorded two takedowns in the first period of his 197-pound matchup and ended the frame with a 7-3 lead. His opponent chose down for the second period, but Fairchild
(pictured above) kept him down, eventually pinning him 55 seconds into the period.
