The Muhlenberg men's soccer team remained undefeated on the season by battling Swarthmore to a scoreless draw.
The Mules (5-0-5, 2-0-1), who came into the game ranked third in Region V by United Soccer Coaches, stayed in a tie for first place with nationally ranked Dickinson, which also played a scoreless tie (against Gettysburg).
Chances were few and far between for both teams. Senior
Ben Mulford made a big stop on a blast from close range early in the second half and finished with three saves for his 22nd career shutout.
Senior back
Trevor Mikuta got his foot on a Garnet blast that appeared headed for the net midway through the half.
Muhlenberg had a couple of chances in the closing moments. After a shot by senior
Omar Lopez (pictured above) went off the hand of a Swarthmore player, the Mules were awarded a free kick a few yards outside of the box. An attempt by senior
Elie Khalil went just high, though, hitting the top of the net.
The Mules are undefeated through 10 games for the first time since 2010.
