The Muhlenberg volleyball team nearly came back from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set but fell short at William Paterson, 3-1.
After dropping the first two sets, the Mules (7-9) took control midway through the third set, breaking a 12-all tie with four straight points, three coming on kills from freshman
Andrea Romero-Agosto, sophomore
Abigail Oswari, and junior
Kelliann Keogh. They held their lead the rest of the set, winning 25-21.
Muhlenberg trailed 15-14 in the fourth set before running off five straight points, capped by another kill by Keogh
(pictured above), to take a 19-15 advantage. The Pioneers (9-5) closed to within 20-19 before senior
Christina Marcin put back an overpass at the net.
The Mules scored the next two points and were within two points of winning the set, but Paterson ran off the final six points to close out the match.
Oswari led the Mules with 10 kills and 17 digs for her third double-double of the season. Junior
Natalia Agnolet recorded 8 kills without an error in only 16 attempts.
Sophomore
Maddy Budris notched her first career double-double, tying her career high with 14 assists to go along with a career-high 10 digs. Junior
Chloe Gaglione (16), senior
Camila Leyes (12), and Marcin (12) also reached double figures in digs.
