Women's Lacrosse Tunes Up for Playoffs

The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team closed out the regular season with a 16-5 loss at fifth-ranked Franklin & Marshall.

The Mules (13-4, 5-3), who had already clinched a home playoff game, will host Ursinus in a first-round game on Tuesday.

Muhlenberg took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by sophomore Emma Youngling, but the Diplomats put to rest any hopes of an upset by responding with four goals in a span of 1:51.

The Mules were within five late in the third quarter but did not score in the final 17 minutes.

Senior Ellison Ervin recorded 10 saves, including the 400th of her career. Senior Emily Vaughan tied her career high of 5 caused turnovers and picked up 5 ground balls, while senior Melissa Pierpont also tied her career best with 4 caused turnovers.
