The Muhlenberg baseball team lost at King's, 5-3, in its last non-conference game of the year.
The Mules (17-19) managed only two hits in the first four innings, falling behind 4-0. They got two runs back in the fifth on a bases-loaded walk and a bases-loaded hit batsman but could not put a further dent into the deficit.
Muhlenberg put the tying runs on base in the ninth on singles by juniors
Jacob Meirowitz (pictured above) and
Mason Mehling before the final out was recorded.
Senior
Brendan Hughes drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and hit his 16th double of the season. Only one player in program history hit more two-baggers.
Three Mule relief pitchers allowed only one run on three hits over the final four innings, with sophomore
Ryan Schultz and junior
Daniel Beagle throwing scoreless frames.
