The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team began a stretch of three games in five days with a decisive 15-8 win at Stockton.
The result improved the Mules' record in road games this season to 5-0. It's the first time in program history that the team has won five consecutive road games in the same season.
Muhlenberg (5-1) led 11-1 late in the first half and was never threatened by the Ospreys (6-2), whose only previous loss was 12-7 to nationally ranked Haverford.
Stockton netted the first goal of the game just 2:17 after the opening draw but was blanked for the next 27 minutes by the Mule defense, which allowed only four shots in the first half. The Ospreys had a slight edge in draw controls in the first half, but Muhlenberg forced 16 turnovers to account for the low shot total.
Senior
Lisa DeCristofaro caused a pair of turnovers and picked up 4 ground balls, while senior
Melissa Pierpont scooped up 3 ground balls.
Sophomore
Alyssa Hartnett led the offense with a career-high 7 goals on only 10 shots, becoming the third different Mule to net seven goals in a game this season. Senior
Jillian Kubikowski netted 3 goals for her fourth hat trick of the season. She and junior
Danielle Sautner both dished out 3 assists.
Hartnett scored four of her goals in Muhlenberg's 11-1 first-half run, which also featured all three of Kubikowski's goals and the first career goal for sophomore
Lauren Moylan (pictured above).Â
