The Muhlenberg women's basketball team lost 62-50 to visiting DeSales Saturday evening.
The Mules held the advantage for over 80% of the game but a fourth quarter shooting slump gave the Bulldogs the victory. What kept the hosts in the game was an exceptional performance from the charity stripe; Muhlenberg went 11-for-12 from the free throw line in the second half.
Sophomore forward
Veronica Dawson (pictured) led the Mules in scoring with 15 points, 13 of them coming in the final 15 minutes of play. Senior guard
Katie McGrath finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high 3 blocks, a couple of them being of the chasedown variety. Junior forward
Lyndsey Costigan snagged 11 rebounds to reach double figures in back-to-back contests. Senior
Avery McNulty finished with 11 points on three-of-seven shooting from beyond the arc.
