The Muhlenberg Men's basketball team fell to Mount Union by a score of 76-40 Friday evening as part of the Waynesburg Tip-Off Tournament.
Junior guard
Liam Gorman led the Mules in scoring with 11 points on 4-of-6 from the field. He totaled seven of those points before halftime, as did sophomore big
Jack Woodard. Those 14 points were key in helping Muhlenberg keep pace with the opposition. Another factor in that was the number of points the Mules scored off of turnovers; they turned 11 Mount Union giveaways into 15 points.
A cold shooting streak caused in part by the length of the Purple Raider defenders led to a 26-2 run by Mount Union over the first 10 minutes of the second half. That effectively put the game out of reach.
Next up, Muhlenberg will face the loser of the 7 p.m. game between Case Western Reserve and Waynesburg in the consolation bracket. That game will tip-off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 15.
