Christina Marcin matched a career-high with 25 kills as the Muhlenberg Mules defeated the visiting McDaniel Green Terror by a score of 3-1.
Marcin and the Mules dominated on the offensive side of the ball throughout the match, posting a crisp .344 hitting percentage as a team. They finished with 58 total kills, second most in a single match this year only to a 65-kill outburst against Moravian on September 3. Marcin's 25 kills tie her personal best set on October 28, 2023 against Washington College. To cap it off, the senior hit an impressive .400 for the match.
Even with Marcin's efficiency,
Andrea Romero-Agosto stole the show in that category, putting home her 17 kills while making just two errors en route to a ridiculous .652 hitting percentage. Both those marks are career-highs for the freshman; her most kills in a match entering today was 11, set on August 30 against Rutgers-Camden. The Mules' middle blocker stuffed the stat sheet throughout, totaling three total blocks, three service aces, five digs, and two assists as well. In all, Marcin and Romero-Agosto accounted for over 72% of Muhlenberg's kills and nearly half of its total points.
Garnering the assist on many of those kills was
Jenny Ryan, who finished the match with a season-high 40 dimes. It is the fourth time that the junior has totaled 40 or more assists in a match in her collegiate tenure and the first time this season, besting her previous high-water mark of 30, which was also set against Moravian.
Before the game, seniors Marcin and
Camila Leyes were honored for their contributions to the program as part of the Senior Day ceremonies.
The Mules move past McDaniel in the Centennial Conference standings with the win, their second of the campaign.
