The Muhlenberg volleyball team fought hard in a competitive match at Dickinson, falling in four sets.
After dropping the first set, 25-12, the Mules (9-16, 1-6) came back to tie the match by pulling out a close second set that was tied 11 times, the last at 16-16. Muhlenberg scored six of the next eight points, half of them coming on kills by junior
Kelliann Keogh, to get a little breathing room at 22-18.
The Red Devils (16-9, 4-3) saved three set points, cutting a 24-20 Mule lead to 24-23, but freshman
Andrea Romero-Agosto closed out the set with a kill.
Dickinson built an early lead en route to taking the third set, 25-16. Muhlenberg hasn't played a five-set match yet this season but threatened to send the contest to a decisive fifth set by leading for most of the fourth. A kill by senior
Christina Marcin made it 19-16, but the Red Devils closed with a 9-2 run to end the match.
Marcin finished with a team-leading 14 kills, including the 900th of her career. She also served 3 aces to move into a tie for 10th on the program's all-time list with 135 for her career.
Keogh
(pictured above) notched a career-high 13 kills, topping the previous best of 10 she set earlier this season, while Romero-Agosto put down 7 kills.
Sophomore
Maddy Budris contributed 14 assists and 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Junior
Jenny Ryan dished out 21 assists.
