Despite shooting 64 percent in the second half and getting a 32-point effort from junior
Jayson Williams-Johnson, the Muhlenberg men's basketball team lost to Gettysburg, 81-77.
Williams-Johnson
(pictured above) recorded his second career 30-point game, coming within one of the 33 he poured in against Washington College as a freshman. He was 12-for-18 from the field, netting 24 points in the second half alone.
The Bullets (10-4, 6-1), who are tied for first place in the Centennial Conference, led by one at halftime. The teams traded the lead with the first six baskets of the second half before Gettysburg went on a 15-2 run to open up a 51-38 advantage.
The Mules came right back with an 11-0 run, capped by a Williams-Johnson tipin, to cut the gap to two, but they could never catch up. Gettysburg made 10 straight free throws in the final two minutes to keep Muhlenberg at bay.

Giovanni Rubino scored 19 points for the Mules, while junior
Luke Gordos added 8 and freshman
Peter Stanton-Shepherd pulled down a career-high 8 rebounds.
