The Muhlenberg field hockey team scored once in each of the final three quarters to defeat Moravian, 3-1.
Two Erins - junior
Erin Jackson and sophomore
Erin DiSandro - combined for all the scoring, with Jackson netting two goals and DiSandro recording a goal and an assist.
The Mules (1-2) wasted little time breaking the ice after a scoreless first quarter, netting a goal just 22 seconds into the second period. DiSandro dribbled to the endline and passed the ball back to Jackson, who beat the Greyhound goalie with a straight-on shot.Â
DiSandro doubled the lead in the third quarter when she spun around a defender near the top of the circle and fired in her second goal of the season.
Moravian (0-3) got one goal back later in the third, but Muhlenberg put the game away with 6:10 remaining in the fourth quarter when Jackson put in the rebound of a shot by sophomore
Abba Diglio that hit the post.
It was the first career multiple-goal game for Jackson
(pictured above), who came into the game with one career goal.
Junior
Grace Leard made 4 saves to earn the win.
