Two goals in the last 20 minutes curtailed a comeback attempt as the Muhlenberg women's soccer team fell to DeSales, 4-1.
The Mules (2-5-2) played from behind for most of the game after conceding a goal just 97 seconds in. It was 2-0 at the half, but Muhlenberg cut the gap in half with 21:39 to play when freshman
Ava Reinl settled a long pass down the middle from sophomore
Anna May and shot the ball into the back of the net for her first career goal.
Pictured above, Reinl (8) celebrates with teammates.
The goal energized the Mules, but the Bulldogs (1-7-1) took the momentum away with a goal just 2:32 later and added a fourth goal less than six minutes after that.
Sophomore
Sophia Kessler made a defensive save, her second of the season, in the second half.
