The Muhlenberg men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five with a 2-1 win at Misericordia.

The Mules (4-1-1), who moved up a spot to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Region V rankings this week, scored one goal in each half to build a 2-0 lead and survived a late penalty kick by the Cougars (1-3-1).

Muhlenberg opened the scoring in the final two minutes of the first half after freshman Sam Roberts was undercut in the box off a corner kick. Senior Chris Richards converted the penalty kick for his 32nd career goal.

Junior Jake Mendelson (pictured above) scored what proved to be the winning goal 15 minutes into the second half off an assist from senior Taylan Akdag.

The Mules did not allow a shot in the final 17 minutes after Misericordia scored its lone goal, successfully defending a corner kick with about three minutes to play.
