The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team edged McDaniel, 7-6, on a goal with just 2:38 left in the fourth quarter.
The Mules (8-3, 3-1) led 6-3 at halftime but were shut out for the entire third quarter and most of the fourth as the Green Terror (7-6, 0-4) scored three straight goals to tie the game.
The score remained knotted at 6-6 for more than nine minutes until Muhlenberg scored off a timeout, when senior
Dominick Visintin (pictured above) took a pass from graduate student
Ethan Grossman and fired a left-handed shot into the net from about 10 yards out.
Sophomore
Griffin Minuto won the ensuing faceoff, capping an outstanding game in which he went 13-of-17 at the X, but the Mules could not get a shot on goal and turned the ball over on a clock violation. McDaniel called timeout with less than a minute remaining and took a shot with a chance to tie. Senior
Max May caught it in his crosse for his ninth save, and Muhlenberg ran out the clock.
Senior
Jack Kraemer scored the first two goals for the Mules and assisted
James Dalimonte on a goal with 9:38 left in the first half that gave Muhlenberg a 5-3 lead. It was the 100th career point for Kraemer and the 99th career goal for Dalimonte. Junior
Ryan May scored his first goal of the season in the final minute of the half to make it 6-3.
Senior
Jason Metz and junior
Wyatt Malia also scored goals for the Mules.
Junior
Matthew Regan (5 ground balls, caused turnover), senior
Liam Amoruso (2 caused turnovers) and graduate student
Jonathan Taub (3 ground balls, caused turnover) led a defensive effort that held an opponent to single digits for the sixth time in 11 games this season.
