The Muhlenberg baseball team got off to a good start at Swarthmore, but the game turned quickly and resulted in a 21-5 loss.
Junior
Jack Kent hit the third pitch of the game over the fence in center for his first career home run. It came against a Garnet hurler who was a member of Team Great Britain in the recent World Baseball Classic, and it was the first leadoff homer for the Mules (9-13-1, 2-2) since 2017.
The Garnet (13-11, 2-2), the defending Centennial Conference champion, tied the game in the bottom of the first and went on to score in every inning to gain a split of the season series.
Kent

Brendan Bussiere (sacrifice fly) and juniors
Nick Belli (single) and
Jake Braet (double) all recorded RBIs in the eighth.
Senior
Jake Swerdloff had two hits, including a double, for Muhlenberg.
