The Muhlenberg softball team scored in the first inning of both games but only one other time and was swept at home by Moravian.
After the Greyhounds (22-7) scored in their first at-bat in the first game, freshman
Maddy Svenningsen hit her 10th double of the season with one out in first. The next batter, junior
Gillian Zack, singled, and Svenningsen came around to score when the Moravian right fielder bobbled the ball.
The Mules (13-19) took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third on an error, but the Greyhounds plated three runs in the top of the fifth and went on to win, 4-2.
Junior
Sophia Cicchetti led off the bottom of the first in the nightcap with a double down the left-field line. Svenningsen followed with a single, and Cicchetti scored when Svenningsen was thrown out trying to steal, giving Muhlenberg a 1-0 lead.
Moravian tied the score in the second and broke the game open with a four-run fourth. The Greyhounds tacked on three in the sixth en route to an 8-1 win.
By scoring once in each game, Cicchetti became the 10th different player in program history to score 30 runs in a season.
