The Muhlenberg softball team was swept at home by Gettysburg, 8-0 in the first game and 3-2 in the second.

The results put a damper on a festive day in which the Mules honored their lone senior, Sara Fallon.

Muhlenberg (12-16, 3-7) managed only two hits in the opening game and did not advance a runner past second base until the final inning.

In the second game, the Mules outhit the Bullets (19-10-1, 6-2) but stranded runners in scoring position in four of the seven innings. One of those times was in the second inning after junior Sophia Cicchetti hit a two-out triple - her school-record-tying fifth triple of the season.

Muhlenberg cut a 2-0 deficit in half with an unearned run in the fourth. It was 3-1 in the sixth before sophomore Kaya Mahy brought in a run with an opposite-field double. The inning ended with the potential tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position, and the Mules went down 1-2-3 in the seventh.
