The Muhlenberg baseball team lost at New Jersey City, 4-1, in its last game before opening up Centennial Conference play.

The Mules (7-11-1) scratched out their lone run in the seventh on an error, an infield single by freshman JJ Foti and back-to-back walks. Foti, making his first career start, recorded the first two hits of his career and was on base in three of four plate appearances.

Junior Jack Kent also had a pair of hits.

Muhlenberg used four pitchers, with two of them not allowing a run. Sophomore Brendan Hughes started and stranded two runners in each of the two innings he pitched. Sophomore Ethan Brochin (pictured above) tossed three scoreless innings, getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh with an inning-ending double play.
