Four Muhlenberg wrestlers placed in the top four at the Mideast Futures Tournament.

Sophomore Andrew Franklin placed second at 285, while sophomores Brian McCaw (125), Fletcher Goodman (184) and Paul Parise (197) all came in fourth.

Franklin advanced to the final with a pin late in the second period against a Gettysburg wrestler and a 7-3 decision against a Brockport opponent who defeated him last month. The final was tied 4-4 late in the third period before Franklin got taken down.

McCaw went 5-1 to place in his fourth tournament of the season. Following his loss in the quarterfinals, he won on a pin, decision and major decision in the consolation semifinals before reaching the six-bout limit.

Goodman (pictured above) began his tournament run with a 3-0 decision against a Gettysburg wrestler who reached the consolation final at last weekend's Centennial Conference Championships. He added a pin against Ursinus and a 4-3 decision on a late escape vs. Wilkes before bowing out of the consolation final.

Parise won four of his six bouts, including a pin and a major decision, to place in a tournament for the second time this season.

Freshman David Rosenfarb and Trey Miletics reached the consolation semifinals at 133 and 149, respectively. Rosenfarb pinned each of his first two opponents in the first period, while Miletics won four straight bouts in the consolation bracket, one on a pin in the first minute and another by major decision.

Sophomore Mike LaRosa recorded three pins at 174, one in a career-fastest 1:36.

Senior Jeorcy Peña had the wildest bout by a Mule in the 141-pound consolations, overcoming an 11-4 second-period deficit with a pair of reversals to force overtime at 12-12. He took his opponent down just 11 seconds into sudden victory for the 14-12 decision.
