The Muhlenberg women's basketball team led for most of the game against one of the top teams in the Centennial Conference but struggled in the fourth quarter and fell to Dickinson, 51-44.
The Red Devils (3-1, 2-0) were picked third in the CC preseason poll and won 17 games last year. One of their wins this season was by 16 points against nationally ranked Messiah.
For the first three quarters, though, it was the Mules (6-2, 1-2) who were in control. Playing tough defense, they led 24-18 at halftime and scored the first four points of the third quarter to extend their advantage to double digits.
Muhlenberg took a 37-30 edge into the final quarter but went more than six minutes from the start of the period without scoring while the Red Devils went on a 10-0 run to take their first lead since the first quarter. A layup by senior
