It was a tale of two halves as the Muhlenberg men's basketball fell in its Centennial Conference opener, 77-58 at Swarthmore.
The Mules (1-2) led by as many as 11 points in the first half and took an eight-point lead into the break against the Garnet (4-1), who were ranked 11th in the D3hoops.com preseason poll. Swarthmore shot just 34.5 percent in the first half and was 0-for-4 on three-pointers.
In the second half, however, the Garnet was 8-for-15 from beyond the arc en route to scoring 50 points and running away with the game.
Senior
Giovanni Rubino led Muhlenberg with 19 points on the strength of 3-of-3 three-point shooting. Junior
Jayson Williams-Johnson added 15 points.
Sophomore
Drew Greene dished out a career-high 5 assists, including one to senior
Brandon Goldberg for a dunk.
Freshman
Liam Gorman (pictured above) scored the first points of his career on a pair of late free throws.
