The Muhlenberg wrestling team tuned up for a week of Centennial Conference dual matches with four non-conference duals.

The Mules (11-9) defeated Wilkes, 27-19, and fell to Springfield (32-10) and Oneonta (30-17) in a Sunday quad after dropping a single match to Centenary (31-11) on Thursday. They close out their dual season with CC matches this week against Ursinus on Wednesday and McDaniel, Johns Hopkins and Merchant Marine on Saturday.

Sophomore Brandon Bowles went 4-0 on the week, defeating two regionally ranked opponents, to improve to 22-2 on the season. He recorded a 6-3 decision against a Centenary wrestler who is ranked sixth in the Mideast Region in a rematch of a regional consolation semifinal bout from last year, which Bowles won in overtime. Bowles also decisioned the third-ranked 157-pounder in the Northeast Region, from Springfield, and scored a major decision and pin in his two other bouts.

Sophomore 174-pounder Anson Dewar won all three of his bouts, with a pin and a technical fall, to remain undefeated against Division III opponents this season and 21-1 overall.

Junior Joey Lamparelli recorded a 2-0 win against a fellow 2022 NCAA qualifier from Wilkes who is currently ranked sixth in the Southeast Region, riding him for the entire second period and escaping three seconds into the third. He also posted a win against Oneonta to improve to 20-5 this season.

Freshman Ryan Fairchild (pictured above) enjoyed a strong day in the quad at Wilkes, going 3-0 with two first-period pins and a major decision. He leads the Mules with 8 pins.
