The Muhlenberg women's basketball team held Bryn Mawr without a first-quarter field goal for the second time this season and went on to an 84-26 home win.
When the teams met at Bryn Mawr in November, the Mules led 18-1 after the first quarter. This time, their margin was 29-3, mostly due to the hot shooting of
Emily Unger. The sophomore missed her first shot but made her next six, including four from three-point range, to finish the first quarter with 16 points.
Unger ended the game with a career-high 25 points, one fewer than the entire Bryn Mawr team, in only 15 minutes of playing time. She went 6-for-7 from three-point range and had plenty of company in the scoring column: Of the 12 Mules who dressed for the game, all but one scored at least two points. And the one who didn't, freshman
Riley Cassidy (pictured above), dished out 8 assists without a turnover.
Freshman
Avery McNulty flirted with a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Sophomore
Ava Connolly had 6 points and 7 assists, and junior
Abigail Scheidel contributed 6 points and 4 assists in her first start of the season.
Muhlenberg (6-7, 5-3) recorded assists on 28 of its 34 field goals while committing only 5 turnovers. The 28 assists were the most by the Mules in a CC game in seven years.
The Mules have never lost to the Owls in 51 all-time meetings.
