The Muhlenberg women's soccer team came back once but not twice in a 2-1 loss at Washington College.
The Mules (1-6-1, 0-3) were forced to play from behind early on. The Shorewomen (4-1-3, 1-0-2) scored in the 13th minute and kept Muhlenberg without a shot for the remainder of the first half.
Muhlenberg tied the game on its first shot of the second half, an arcing shot by junior
Casie Burke from 30 yards out that landed in the left side of the net. It was the first career goal for Burke
(pictured above).
The Mules came close to taking the lead just two minutes later, but a shot by junior
Bri Astbury hit the crossbar.
Sophomore
Sara Pecorelli helped keep the game tied, matching her career high of 9 savses, but Washington finally broke through for the winning goal on a header with 6:48 left.
