The Muhlenberg men's soccer team enjoyed its first true home game of the season, toppling McDaniel 3-1 in its Centennial Conference opener.

Chris Richards sandwiched two goals around one by senior
Taylan Akdag to stake the Mules (3-3, 1-0) to a three-goal lead early in the first half. The previously undefeated Green Terror (5-1, 0-1) spoiled the clean sheet by scoing in the final two minutes.
Muhlenberg came in with only one first-half goal scored all season but doubled that vs. McDaniel. Richards broke the ice just 3:08 into the game following a long pass from junior
Zack Mikuta. The pass was headed by a Green Terror back, but right to Richards, who dribbled in all alone and beat the McDaniel keeper to the far post. It was the second-fastest goal from the start of the CC game for the Mules since 2014.
Akdag, who had the fastest (1:12 vs. Dickinson last year), put in a free kick midway through the first period for his 14th career goal, extending the lead to 2-0.
Richards converted a pass from senior
Tarin Morris just 4:25 into the second half to cement his fourth career multiple-goal game. He now has 23 career goals, the most by a Mule player in the last decade.
It was the first time in the 2000s that Muhlenberg scored in the first five minutes of each half in a CC game.
Including two games at alternate sites while Varsity Field was under repair, the Mules have scored 11 goals in their three home games.
