The Muhlenberg field hockey team fell in its last tuneup before beginning Centennial Conference play, 3-1 at Montclair State.
The Red Hawks (2-4) put up a single goal in each of the first three quarters. Held to two shots in the first 45 minutes, the Mules (2-4) came out on fire in the final quarter, winning two penalty corners and taking three shots on goal in the first minute.
The pressure finally paid off when Muhlenberg scored off a penalty corner in the third minute of the quarter. Freshman
Abba Diglio sent a pass across the circle to sophomore
Devon Eastlack who shot over the right shoulder of the goalie for her first career goal.
Muhlenberg did not get off another shot until the final minute of the game, however.
