The Muhlenberg baseball team fell in an offensive slugfest at Penn State Abington, 24-9.
The Mules (11-13) were within a run at 7-6 after plating four runs in the top of the fourth. But the Nittany Lions (19-9), who came into the game ranked fifth in Division III in scoring, erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the frame to blow the game open.
Sophomore
Jonathan Toth capped the four-run rally in the fourth with a two-run homer, his eighth of the season. That's one short of the school record for a shortstop.
Sophomore
Nick Belli (pictured above) led off for the Mules and reached base in all four plate appearances, with a single, double, walk and hit by pitch. Sophomore
Ryan Riccio also reached base in all four of his plate appearances, scoring three runs.
Freshman
Aidan Legner drove in a pair of runs on two sacrifice flies, and sophomore
Jake Braet scored three times. Freshman
Matt Mendoza drew a bases-loaded walk for his first career RBI.
Sophomore
William Kasper pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh.
