The Muhlenberg baseball team needed only two batters to score its first run but eventually lost to Beloit, 14-3.
The Mules (8-3) waited nearly two hours after the scheduled starting time of 4:30 to begin their game due to the previous game on the field going into extra innings. When they finally got on the field, senior
Ryan Hebert led off with a single and came around to score on a double by freshman
Aidan Legner.
Beloit, which went 24-6 last season, scored three runs in the third, but Muhlenberg came back to tie the game in the next half inning. After sophomore
Jonathan Toth alertly tagged up from first on a deep fly to center and slid into second safely, junior
Caleb Tereska (pictured above)Â evened the score with a two-run single up the middle.
The Buccaneers put the game away with six runs in the fifth and five in the sixth.
Legner added a single in his second at-bat for his third multiple-hit game in his last four starts.
