Wrestling Wins Two of Three Duals

The Muhlenberg wrestling team closed out its dual-match season by winning two of three in a quad at McDaniel.

The Mules (12-8, 4-2) defeated McDaniel, 23-21, lost 26-13 to defending Centennial Conference champion Washington and Lee, and wrapped up their day with a 25-15 win vs. Gettysburg in their final tuneup before next Saturday's CC Championships.

Freshman Brandon Bowles and senior Luca Colestock each went 3-0 on the day. Bowles wrapped up an impressive week in which he won the first four bouts of his collegiate career, scoring a technical fall and two decisions. Colestock notched a major decision and two decisions, improving to 12-0 all-time in CC duals.

Senior Ramiro Osuna played an important role in both Muhlenberg wins. He took to the mat against McDaniel with the Mules trailing 21-20 and scored a 7-3 decision to provide the winning points.

Against Gettysburg, Muhlenberg trailed 15-9 before rallying to win its final four bouts. Decisions by freshmen Jack Patti at 174 and Fletcher Goodman at 184 tied the score, and Colestock's major decision put the Mules ahead, 19-15. Osuna (pictured above) needed just 48 seconds to pin his opponent and clinch the victory.

Sophomore Joey Lamparelli (125) and freshman Frank DiEsso (125/133) each won both of their bouts, while freshman Anson Dewar was 2-1 at 157.
